Failing to get the hospital's lights on, rockin' out to Sam B's "Who Do You Voodoo" song, and trying to get silence to save a woman. LOVE the ode to the first game here! :D ___________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Polish video game developer Techland, known for Call of Juarez and its prequel, released this sequel to its highly successful 2011 game as Dead Island: Riptide on 23 April 2013 in North America for the XBox 360 and PS3, with a PC version being released two days later. Additional releases in Australia and then worldwide followed shortly after. Believing they had escaped the zombie plague by leaving the island of Banoi, the four heros of the original game along with Yarema (a native girl from Banoi) and a convict helicopter pilot land on a ship only to be taken into custody for quarantine and experimentation. It doesn't take long for a crew member to get bitten by Yarema and infected, which leads to the eventual crash of the ship on another island in the Banoi archipelago. Now on the island of Palanoi, the heroes search for a way to survive. This time, however, the threat isn't limited to the dead walking the shores. This Let's Play is done on an XBox 360. Controls in this game are the same as in the first: LT to aim, RT to shoot or throw a weapon, LB to kick, A to jump, X to interact (open, pick up, etc.), B to heal, and Y to toggle weapons. Some improvements exist, such as holding Back and rotating the right stick to jump directly into a menu (vs. opening the menu and then using bumpers to navigate, although this option still exists). Graphics are mostly the same, although some small improvements seem to have made their way into this sequel. Some major bugs (like sound dropping out completely while on the ship, for instance) exist, and it seems bugs from the original game went unfixed. Still, with a lot of zombie enemies, versatility in skills, and just plain fun action, I find myself saying, "Let's Play Dead Island Riptide!"
