When you look at what the Cleveland Browns did in free agency, it tells a story — but maybe not the one people think. You bring in guys like Elgton Jenkins and Tevin Jenkins, that’s not just about plugging holes… that’s about raising the floor across the entire offensive line. Both of those dudes bring versatility — they can play guard, they can slide if needed — and that’s key to this conversation. So when people say, “LT is the priority at 6,” I don’t think it’s that simple. Because if you’re Andrew Berry, you’re not building this thing like “we HAVE to get a left tackle.” You’re building it like, “I need five dudes who can function as one unit.” The Browns have had too many years where injuries and lack of depth killed them. So now? You stack versatility, you stack toughness, and you give yourself options. That means LT might be a need… but it’s not the only need. It’s about best offensive lineman available who fits what we’re trying to become. Now let’s bring the draft into it. You got prospects like Monroe Freeling, who’s been talked about as a potential fit — long, athletic, developmental upside at tackle. You also got interior guys and swing linemen in this class that could make just as much sense depending on how Berry sees the board falling. And that’s the key — if Berry feels like the gap between a tackle and, say, a dominant interior lineman isn’t that big, he might lean toward the guy who stabilizes the entire line immediately, not just one spot. So to answer it straight up — nah, I’m not 100% sold that left tackle is THE priority. I think the priority is protecting the quarterback and re-establishing physical identity up front, period. If that comes at LT, cool. If it comes at guard or even a versatile piece that can move around? Berry’s taking that too. This ain’t about one position… it’s about building a unit that doesn’t fall apart the second adversity hits. And if they get that right, that’s when this offense actually has a chance to take off.
