Two tough days on Fort Loudoun — fought for every bite and caught a heartbreaker on topwater. The grind was real at the Tennessee Bass Nation Kayak State Championship. Day 1 started strong: sitting 25th with five fish for 73.75″, anchored by a 19.75″ bass and a steady limit that set the tone early. Day 2 brought tougher conditions, producing only two fish for 27″ — a 14.75″ smallmouth and a 12.25″ largemouth. I also lost a solid one on topwater, and that heartbreak ended up being the only footage I captured from Day 2 after leaving my extra SD card behind. Every inch was earned, every cast mattered. When it was all over, I finished 39th out of 82 anglers — not the result I hoped for, but a solid finish in a stacked field. That’s what tournament kayak fishing is all about — adapting, grinding, and chasing the next big bite. This video breaks down both days on Fort Loudoun: my approach, adjustments, and lessons learned from a challenging championship. If you love the real side of tournament fishing — the ups, downs, and raw moments — this one’s for you. 🎥 Subscribe for more kayak fishing tournaments, Tennessee lake adventures, and fishing recaps from the water.
