Islamic State threatens attacks on European Christmas markets

IS, 올해도 유럽 크리스마스 겨냥 테러 선동•위협 The Islamic State group has released a disturbing propaganda poster, which warns that attacks could be carried out in Christmas markets across Europe. It comes on the heels of Friday's deadly attack in Egypt, where the attackers were seen carrying the terror group's black flag. Ro Aram reports. Despite losing its territory in its self-proclaimed caliphate in Syria and other strongholds, IS is very much present elsewhere in the world with a strong following. This was seen on Friday when terrorists, carrying the IS black flag, attacked a mosque in Egypt, killing at least 305 people, including dozens of children. The attack brought worldwide condemnation, including from Europe, where security concerns have just been heightened. IS released a sick propaganda poster with a menacing hooded figure looming over Santa Claus, with London's popular Regent Street in the background. The caption 'Soon on your holidays' is also written in French and German, sparking fears that the poster is a call to action for IS followers to carry out attacks in Europe. The Epoch Times reported that the image was intercepted by BlackOps Cyber, a darknet intelligence company, which said it was a picture never seen before. Another poster shows a Christmas market in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower in the distance overshadowed by a blood-stained, knife-wielding hand. Another image shows a wolf standing over a burning Vatican, which came after an earlier picture of an apparent jihadist with a beheaded Pope Francis. The latest posters came amid a police crackdown on suspected terrorists in Germany, in which six Syrian nationals were detained. Last December, a terrorist drove a truck into a Christmas market in Berlin, killing twelve people. Ro Aram, Arirang News.
