Biden warns China he will be firm on Taiwan

US President Joe Biden has warned Chinese leader Xi Jinping that he will remain firm on defending Taiwan. President Xi’s position on Taiwan however has remained unchanged following a virtual summit between the two. Sky News US contributor Michael Ware told Sky News Australia to not expect President Xi’s position to change. “It’s one of the central pillars of Chinese policy and indeed President Xi’s power,” Mr Ware said. “That is harnessing that nationalist fervour that exists in mainland China when it comes to Taiwan.”
