"For Me and My Gal" and "Too Fat Polka" sung by Arthur Godfrey, 1947

"For Me and My Gal" and "Too Fat Polka" sung by Arthur Godfrey, 1947

I am posting this record more as a cautionary tale than anything else. Arthur Godfrey was a big entertainer from the late 1940s until the mid-1960s, mysteriously. The A-side is a bland ballad, and the B-side is a pretty appalling "novelty song," called TOO FAT POLKA. "You can have her, I don't want her, she's too fat for me." Oof. Godfrey himself was not a svelte man, I might add.
