Written by Earl Thomas Conley and Dick Heard. No copyright infringement intended. I dedicate this to my dear Daddy who was born and raised in Athens, TN near the Smoky Mountains. The verse, "Nothin' left to hold onto, made some plans but they fell through, Now there's nothin' left for me, but my Smoky Mountain memories" especially reminds Kevin and me of him. He always longed to get back to living in Tennessee, but his earthly plans fell through time after time, and the Lord called him home before he ever saw that dream fulfilled. Though the Tennessee mountains are about as close to Heaven as you can get, in my opinion, I know my Daddy is living with Jesus in a much better place. We will forever love and cherish his memory in our hearts. Photo sources - unsplash.com & Racheal Cooper Photography.
