Join Annette Thurmon as she walks us through how to make an easy salsa recipe with fresh tomatoes and peppers. Once you source the list of ingredients, she suggests that you prep by measuring and cutting ingredients before you begin heating and thoroughly washing your Ball glass jars. Next, she shows us how to remove the skin of a tomato by placing in the oven for a few minutes and easily peeling the skin. She’ll also explain some alternative methods as well. Then, she’ll mix and cook the ingredients and shows us how to tell when the salsa is ready for the canning process. Once it’s ready she uses a canning funnel to add the salsa to the jar and measures the contents with a headspace tool. Then she removes the bubbles and prepares for the waterbath canning process.
