The above quote is what I put when I initially uploaded this exciting game ending play, little did I know how true “promises more exciting clips from week 5” would be. In less than 24 hours, how did we go from children running on the same football field in joy and happiness to children running on the field in fear? The fear is real, to have gun shots thunder out so close to you there is shock, fear and panic in a matter of an instant. How do you think a child feels? How do you think your child feels? How do you want your child to feel? We have become so numb to active shooters that active kids can be anything but. I was lucky and cursed to be present in the same spot for finishes of a football game as a fan you would love to see and as a parent, child, friend you would not want to be at. So, how do we fix it? How do you fix the problem of your children being victims of gun violence? Gun control is how! For all those that will claim it is their right to bear arms, go get a musket and satchel of gun powder. Some how imperfect people made a perfect Constitution and Declarations of Independence. Get off it! A bullet has no name but it became merged with names in Sandy Hook, Orlando, Las Vegas so forth and so on and last night with 2 teenagers. I do not know the circumstances, do not much care, until you are in the midst of an active shooting scene filled with chaos don’t tell me background checks are needed. The only ground that mattered was the one I hit to avoid gunfire. The false sense of security we have is the false sense that only a few want us to have. If children getting shot does not move you, nothing will move your soulless shell!
