2016 Election Wrap Up

With election day in the rear-view mirror, a number of newly elected representatives are preparing to take office. The Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation Political Action Committee this year designated 15 state legislature candidates, three incumbent U.S. congressional candidates and one University of Nebraska Board of Regents candidate as Friends of Agriculture. That designation is based on commitment to and positions on agricultural issues. Another major issue on the ballot for some farm Bureau members was the 369-million-dollar Southeast Community Collage bond, which more than 67-percent of voters in the 15 county SCC service area turned down because of the massive property tax increase that came with it.
