PlayStation Trophy Collection Review: SILVANOUS

Below you can see SILVANOUS' own written biography of his trophy hunting career, I want to thank him for taking the time to write this. It's interesting seeing how accurately you can predict a lot of details regarding someones gaming history just from viewing their account in some depth. And it's nice to have the blanks filled in, a baby will certainly slow down your gaming for a time ;) SILVANOUS: "So overall StayPationt did a nice job of identifying my strengths and weaknesses in my gaming career. I actually started my gaming back in Atari days, took a break until PS2 released and played a few games here and there - Final Fantasy X, Grand Turismo, and Metal Gear Solid being my initial Sony games. Once the PS3 released at the end of 2006, I started to use gaming as a means to ease the stress from work activities and until 2012 actually wondered about what these trophy things that popped sometimes meant but just ignored. The one thing StayPationt didn't capture in his analysis was the birth of my daughter that occurred in 2006 but has led over the years to some 'easier' platinums which primarily are games that I've played alongside, with, or otherwise with her. Take for example Skylanders - that's a series of which my daughter and I play together. She's not a trophy hunter - so once she's in bed I tend to tidy up a bit with trophies. First game I played with trophies was Rock Band 2 but it wasn't until I hit Dark Souls that I really found a game that I wanted to explore everything there was to know and learn about the game. I played DS1 well beyond platinum - almost 2 years on a regular weekly basis. It's those formative years (if such a thing exists for gamers) from which I met players online; My first time playing DS1 I was joined by a vader whom I thought was friendly, acted friendly, so he actually started killing enemies alongside me, up until we got to the boss area where upon s/he (still don't know who that was...) backstabbed me while I was fighting a mob of zombies. Kudos to that person for acting like we see today where in DS3 we have Mad Vaders that do just such a thing. Little did I know that my experience would be put into the series. Once I learned about trophies in late 2011 into early 2012, it became a regular focus that once I started a game, I wanted to look at earning some of the trophies. Not aware of PSN, roadmaps, or guides at the time - I primarily did the trophies solo with no hints or guides. Also this was the time I became aware of an online presence of friends which fast forward to today I've actually kept a handful of them where we continue to play coop Souls series. These 'close' gaming friends influence both the games I play, but in turn the games they play. Nothing formal - just that we help each other for online trophies where it makes sense. It was about in 2014 that I decided that getting my at the time sub-35% completion up over 50% would be a goal of mine, which became a goal of 60%, 75%, 90%, and eventually 100%. For relatively the past 2.5 years I've primarily focused on games I started but did not complete. At times this could have been a platinum in and of itself but my determination (or stubbornness my wife would say) and focus kept me aligned to my goals and proud to say that earlier this month achieved 100% completion on my account. A whole new experience awaits me being as now I have the openness of choosing any game I want to play, but with the understanding that it will be completed. With a family, a full-time job, baseball season, soccer season, and swimming season all competing for my time - I tend to focus on (1) game at a time - albeit sometimes (1) on PS3 and (1) on PS4."
