Australia is a huge country. So many diverse climates, landscapes and stories yet to hear or yet to be told. We would like to be part of that story telling. It has been on our bucket list for a very long time to visit the Red Centre, the iconic Olga's, the impressive Kings Canyon and the majestic Uluru. This 15 days trek includes a fair few kilometers along the Great Central Road (apparently its a 2700km 'short cut' that links the Queensland coast and the Western Australian coast), where we pass through isolated Aboriginal communities and some breathtaking scenery, including parts of the Finke River and Gary Junction road. We are getting closer to our main goal, the Olgas and Uluru. In our 4WD and hired camper we finally see one of our main bucket list dreams. We leave camp bright and early and stop at Len Bidell's blazed tree marker, when our rear window explodes. A quick but successful patch job and we off to the Olgas, Uluru and Alice Springs. And we take a spur of the moment helicopter ride. Stay tuned for more episodes as we head our way East on the school holidays 2018.
