So ... "Slow Down" is an Afrobeat instrumental i ... Well, the term "Afrobeat" was coined in 1969 by the great multi-instrumentalist, Fela Kuti - to describe his music. This sound at the time was a fusion of Jazz music, Ghanian Highlife, Soul music, percussion and the Yoruba language/chants. Although Hip Hop influenced, i have given "Slow Down" a very African drum beat especially with the use of various percussion instruments. The melody is very much native in harmony and rhythm.
