Did you like this video? SUBSCRIBE for new videos every Monday and Friday: https://goo.gl/FRdNss This Week we will be showing you how to create a quick fire pit out of some old car rims. This is a great project for the beginner welder or anyone who is looking for an easy summer project. Here is what you will need: 3 Car Rims - We used (1) 16" (1) 15" and (1) 14", but you can use any combination that you want. You will just have to adjust some of your welding for fit up. It is also a good idea to have the lower portion of the pit a smaller size, so the top piece can fit over top of it (as it won't be welded) Some Scrap Sheet Metal - It should be at least as large as the inside diameter of your smallest wheel. You will be cutting and welding this as the ash catcher. Plasma Cutter FCAW Welder Marking Tool Once you have all your equipment, it's a relatively squick and simple project. If you are using this video as a guide, here are some skipping points throughout the video for you to use: Step 1- 2:00 Cut out the Center of the Top Wheel Step 2 - 4:18 Prepare the Wheels for Welding Step 3 - 8:16 Weld the Top Two Wheels Together Step 4 - 9:22 Measure and Cut the Fire Door Step 5 - 14:35 Clean up the Plasma Cuts Step 6 - 15:05 Trace and Cut the Ash Collector Step 7 - 18:53 Weld the Ash Collector into the smallest (lower) rim.
