The Conference Board reported that its index jumped to 53.5, from July's revised number of 51. The S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index rose 1% from May to June, marking the third month in a row to show a gain. In corporate news, shares of Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE:PXD) rose earlier Tuesday after the company declared a dividend of $0.04 per share. DSW Inc. (NYSE:DSW) reported Q2 net income of $23.5 million on net sales of $415.1 million, up from the year-ago period's net income of $7.6 million on net sales of $368.5 million. Taking a look at where the markets closed, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) closed 0.05% higher at 10,014.72, the S&P500 (INX) closed 0.04% higher at 1,049.33, and the Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) closed 0.28% lower at 2,114.03
