Joe Biden defends decision to end war in Afghanistan after 20 years

U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday said he takes responsibility for the decision to end America's longest war, noting that the "the terror threat has metastasized across the world well beyond Afghanistan." Biden rejected criticism that leaving earlier would have produced a different outcome, after a hasty and humiliating exit for Washington and its NATO allies. "There is no evacuation from the end of a war that you can run without the kinds of complexities, challenges, threats we faced, none," Biden said at the White House.
