Spring Time Speckled Trout out Front in South Mississippi (Matrix Shad Magneto)

#kayakfishing #inshorefishing #trout With the yard so muddy I decided to drag out the kayak instead of rutting up the yard to get the boat out. Water was very clean and that’s why I chose this area to fish. I knew the bayous would be muddy right now with all the rain we just had. Also I wanted to target Trout instead of Redfish. All but one fish was caught on the Matrix Shad Magneto the other one was caught on Matrix Rip Shad Rustic Mullet. The fish were caught on the edge and into a channel not sure exact depth probably somewhere between 7 and 10 feet. While the fish were not big it was nice to catch a few trout. I was using a bump retrieve keeping the lure between the bottom and top of the water column but closer to the bottom than the top. It was a foggy day and the gnats were horrible until the wind picked up just a tad bit. Never got on a steady bite it was catch 2 or 3 move around catch 2 or 3 more type of day. All fish were released.
