[email protected] | New York, New York 2024: This video starts right in front of the iconic New York Public Library on a rainy New York afternoon. We are standing at the point where 41st Street meets 5th Avenue from where we decide to enter into the iconic Library to get some shade from the rain. The view from inside this majestic library is stunning. Soon we head out of the library and decide to head East on the 42nd Street towards some iconic parts of Midtown Manhattan. The intersection we started the video at is also called John Bigelow Plaza, named after the legendary John Bigelow who helped build the New York Public Library. As we walk east along the 42nd street we witness the stunning buildings that form Midtown East. The Chrysler Building is by far the most famous and the most easily recognizable and it beckons us east from a distance. We soon walk past the Summit One Vanderbilt on our left - this building is one of now many observation decks available in the city. World One, The Edge Hudson Yards, Top of the Rock, and the Empire State Building are some of the other iconic spots to catch a view from high up in the city. While walking east we soon arrive at what will be the focal point of our walk and exploration today - Grand Central Station. This iconic station influenced most of what we see in Midtown East today. We stand right by the Park Avenue Viaduct that bypasses traffic around the Grand Central and a couple of other nearby buildings. We walk along the Pershing Square Plaza right alongside the Park Avenue Viaduct and witness stunning views of the Grand Central and the Metlife Building right behind it. These are some of the best view of Midtown East. Next, we also spend time taking in some amazing, energetic live music right under the Park Avenue Viaduct. With the energy of this live music electrifying everything and everyone around us we walk into the Grand Central Station and soon arrive at views that are moving and mesmerizing. The ceilings and chandelier of this station are grand and majestic, staying true to its name. We walk through the Vanderbilt Hall to arrive at the Main Concourse where we explore the iconic clock at the information stand in the middle, the astronomical ceiling, the East Balcony and the iconic Apple Store therein. We spend enough time to experience the Grand Central from our perfect spot right in the middle of the main courcourse. Then we continue walking north inside the station and go us the escalators to seamlessly arrive at the next building of this area - Metlife Building. The views from the elevator are as mindblowing as they were few minutes ago when we had entered the Grand Central. Metlife Building is less grand and less ornamented for sure. It looks like a plain glassy office building. We walk right through the builing and next exit at the 45th Street which is where another iconic building of Midtown East is located - The Helmsley Building. It was getting dark but we choose to walk some more over to the Chrysler Building. We spend only a few minutes by this icon of New York City. Unfortunately, with the bad lighting we could not capture any good shots of this building - the video still shows the only average shot we captured. The video ends here but our desire to properly explore Chrysler Building has not ended. We will plan to check out this building another time soon.
