US President Donald Trump has hailed what he called a "tremendous day for the Middle East" as he and regional leaders signed a declaration to cement the first phase of a ceasefire in Gaza. The signing came just hours after the last remaining living Israeli hostages returned home – ending over two years of captivity. The release was as part of a US-brokered plan to end the war that began on October 7th, 2023.
