In the early 1900s Punta Gorda, Florida evolved from a once rugged frontier town to the county seat of newly-formed Charlotte County. Throughout the years, the community weathered hurricanes, freezes, and the 1920s land boom crash - but nothing could hamper the town's continued growth.
