January 18. 2026. Second Sunday in Ordinary Time. Isaiah 49:3, 5-6. Psalm 40:2, 4, 7-8, 8-9 10, 1 Corinthians 1:1-3. John 1:29-34. #The_readings_for_the_Second_Sunday_of_Ordinary_Time_Year_A, invite us to reflect on God's calling, purpose, and the revelation of Jesus as the Lamb of God. In today's first reading from #Isaiah, we hear a beautiful proclamation of God's chosen servant, a figure who is called to bring light to the nations and salvation to all people. Isaiah reminds us that God has a specific mission for each one of us – a mission to share His love and light in the world. In the Psalm, we sing, "Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will." This response becomes the heart of our Christian vocation. When we say "yes" to God's call, we align ourselves with His will and purpose for our lives. Just as Isaiah was called, we too are called by God to participate in His divine plan, not only for our own lives but for the betterment of our communities and the world. In the Second reading from 1st Corinthians, St. Paul addresses the community by reminding them of their identity as sanctified in Christ Jesus. He calls them to unity and reinforces the idea that, as members of the Body of Christ, they each have a role to play in building up the Church. We, too, are called to embrace our identity as beloved children of God and members of this community, contributing our unique gifts in love and service. In the Gospel of John, we hear #John_the_Baptist_proclaiming_Jesus_as_the_Lamb_of_God.
