Ranking 32 Albums and EP's I heard in 2025 - Filling the Void

I listened to 32 albums and EP's last year, and I decided to rank them all. Most albums I listened to in 2025 were metal to be honest, so expect a lot of it, 2026 is already a lot more varied, but 2025 was such a great year of metal for me that it just naturally skewed that way. Or some of the way through? If so, thanks for giving the video a shot. This video was supposed to be a short one month project to get back into the pace of editing to tackle the two bigger videos on the backburn, but ended up being a good three months, as filming began the start of January. Some of the reason was going away (holiday to Australia, and in general March was a busy month), but even then, I underestimated how big this would end up, and the editing style I meant with ended up making the video quite dense. As of today, I am happy with it on release, but when I record the next of this series, I wanna go for a different style, thinking of snappier medley transitions (might not work) or reviewing each album in three haikus or less (I am currently doing that for fun with my 2026 albums). Please leave feedback on the video if you have any to give, on the pacing, editing, talking points, did I add enough to be worth listening to? That kind of feedback can really help me improve. Another fact of this video is I was originally doing the same thing for 2024, where I did like 50-60 albums and EP's, I scripted it back in 2024 and missed the year window. I intended to record it, but I ended up not doing so, and it's pushed further and further back. I put so much effort into the script part though, that I still wanna make the video even if it's quite outdated and not too appealing. I would have to re-listen yet again to all those releases to do it though in case my opinions have changed, I have all the old audio recording from 2024, but I will likely have to re-do it all, ah well. The Saw part 2 and Mahjong FAQ video are the big videos I was on about that are so delayed. I am gonna start with Saw part 2 as it is already half an hour edited and will be quicker to produce, while Mahjong is gonna take a lot more effort to make and require new skills like getting better at graphic design for potential animation and I also need to add quite a few new recordings with adendums, because get which EMA rulebook got updated at the start of the year? Whoops, guess it didn't end up so bad the video got delayed as having it dated by the time it comes out would have sucked. Another reason Mahjong got so delayed is because I spent a good solid week editing down just my talking to clip it all together, this is because I am bad at talking to a camera and how long the lines were. I really hope the video and everything turns out good, I've put dozens and dozens of hours into the whole process of that, and it'd be really sad if I end up unhappy with it, that's the other reason it's delayed I fear. Originally, this year was gonna be the year of monthly videos, where I try and make more frequent shorter videos like the Akagi and Liar Game ones, but considering this video is finally releasing in APRIL and that I have two big projects looming over my head, my priority has definitely shifted. Next year might be that year, but this year hopes to be slaying these great beasts. But yeah, thanks for reading, I put quite a bit of effort into this and I hope some can find enjoyment in it!
