Earlier AIMT and NEET exams were required for medical only in government colleges , private colleges and minority institutes conducted examinations separately. In order to get medical admission in private colleges, student had to sit for many examinations. As a result , the students had to face a lot of pressure. Besides ,private colleges are giving seats in exchange for money such allegations have been raised many times. To get rid of these problems ,the government asked all colleges including private and minority institutions to take examination through NEET examination. But private colleges, especially minority institutes, objected and challenged in 2012. In 2013 ,the verdict was issued in favor of minority institutes , stating that NEET was unconstitutional .
