BETHEL, Ohio (WKRC) - A fisherman is missing after his boat capsized at East Fork Lake in Clermont County Sunday night. The Clermont County Sheriff's Department received the call about the capsized boat around 6:30 p.m. An investigator at the scene said the fisherman had picked up a hunter and a deer he shot to transport them across the lake. That's when the boat sank. The hunter was able to swim to shore and call 911. The fisherman was not found, but the hunter told investigators he was wearing a life vest. It's unclear what caused the boat to sink. Crews searched for hours before calling off the search around 12:30 a.m. due to inclement weather. Aircare flew overhead to light the water during the search. A cadaver dog was also used to search for the missing fisherman on shore. Investigators state that Task Force One, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and the Clermont County Sheriff's Office were all involved in the rescue situation. The search began again Monday morning with weather permitting. During the 911 call the hunter told the dispatcher the fisherman was trying to swim to shore but was struggling. He also said the man had a life jacket on. On the call the hunter and another man on shore then said they could no longer see the man in the water because it was dark. They called his name but he didn't respond. The search is scheduled to continue Monday afternoon if the weather cooperates.
