North Korean state media demands suspension of South Korea-U.S. military drills

北노동신문, "대화 분위기 맞게 한미 합동군사훈련 중단해야" Just two weeks after North Korea criticized the "Max Thunder" air force exercises between South Korea and the U.S.,... North Korea is once again demanding the allies *suspend their joint military drills. An editorial in the Tuesday edition of the state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper said,.... the Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise,... the allies' computerized military drill scheduled for August,... "does more harm than good." It also said that the exercise should not go forward,.... if the U.S. is sincere about holding a summit with North Korea next month in Singapore. Following the report, Seoul's Ministry of National Defense spokesperson told reporters during a regular briefing,... that the military plans on conducting the drills as planned.
