‪@pannoni1491‬ ‪@pannoni8449‬ pannoni10 #1990s #TNT #GetawayMatinee #movie #intro #1990 (c)1990 AT&T Inc./WarnerMedia From trade with Michael Pannoni, this is a TNT Getaway Matinee intro for April 26, 1990 before the 1950 movie "Captain China" which featured John Payne, Gail Russell, Jeffrey Lyon, Lon Chaney Jr., Michael O'Shea, Edgar Bergen and Ellen Corby (the last two of whom appeared together as Grandma and Grandpa Walton in the 1971 CBS movie "The Homecoming" {the defacto pilot for "The Waltons"; Corby was the only person playing an adult character to reprise her role in the series proper - Bergen was replaced for the series by Will Geer, who played Grandpa Walton until Geer's death in 1978}). The entire group of commercials from that date was from a marathon TNT was running as a tribute to actress Paulette Goddard, who had died 3 days earlier in Switzerland at the age of 78 (most of the other ads in that set came from the 1936 movie "Modern Times"; which was her debut alongside Charlie Chaplin {which was also noteworthy as the last time Chaplin played his Little Tramp character and the first sound film for Chaplin. Incidentally, for a time Chaplin was married to Goddard})
