Middlesbrough beat Wimbledon 3-2 at Selhurst Park in August 1999. Wimbledon took the lead through Carl Cort but Boro went 3-1 ahead with a goal from summer signing Christian Ziege and two from Hamilton Ricard. John Hartson got one back for Wimbledon late in the game.
