This is video #09 in my playthrough of Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels in the Super Mario All-Stars compilation. After rescuing Princess Peach/Toadstool from the castle in World 8, Luigi continues his journey. As a reward for going through the first eight worlds without a warp zone, Luigi can now explore the fantasy world of World 9. World 9-1 is essentially a flooded overland stage. It is reminiscent of the minus world in the original game, but here, there is a goal flagpole at the end. Then, Luigi goes through World 9-2 (time 1:16). This is an underwater stage with Lakitus and Piranha Plants. In parts, it looks like a flooded overland stage. The next stage is World 9-3 (time 2:32). This is a fortified overland stage with lava pits. There is a bonus area that your plumber can go through repeatedly here. There is only one enemy here, Bowser, but you can get over him easily enough. He is best avoided if your plumber does not have fire power. The final stage in this world is World 9-4 (time 4:18). This is an underwater stage with overland enemies. In green blocks, you will find the word "アリガトウ!" or "Arigatou!" This is Japanese for "Thank you!" The fantasy world ends with a typical flagpole. Thanks for watching! This video is part of my Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels [SNES] Playthrough playlist. This version was released for the SNES in the Super Mario All-Stars compilation in 1993. I am playing on the SNES 9x emulator. All characters, story, music, artwork, and other components of this game are the property of their respective owners.
