The Story of Tonight | TCotC: The Series (HamiltonXDuat Deities Animatic)

Okay, okay, I know this is garbage. I know it took way too long for this kind of shitty quality. I will say that I had fun while doing it, and I do quite enjoy a lot of the shots in this. What's going on here?: _ There’s music, toasting, and the smell of food and incense is almost overwhelming. Thoth encourages Ra to take Osiris aside and away from the mortal’s eyes, as he fears things may go south in the chaos of the celebration. So, Ra -- still wanting to congratulate his grandson -- settles for taking Osiris into the palace and away from the bustle of the mortal crowd. Sobek is already there, and in seeing Osiris, he brings out the beer to celebrate! Thoth follows behind Ra and Osiris, warily keeping his eyes peeled for signs of trouble. While Osiris is celebrating with the older deities, his siblings are looking for him -- they want to be with him, too, of course. Predictably, the first one to stumble upon the exclusive gathering is Set. Set has always viewed himself and Osiris as equals, so the new crown isn’t an issue. The idea that Osiris may have ditched his siblings is a little more worrying to him… But, despite this initial feeling, Set approaches anyway. Before he can announce himself, Osiris notices him first… And he greets him warmly. Set smiles, and his worries are eased -- crown or no crown, Osiris is still the same as ever. The two of them share a happy embrace as Set congratulates Osiris on his new title. Ra is happy to see that Set has caught up with them, and he and Sobek invite him to join in on the celebration -- neither of them realize that Thoth’s intention had been to exclude Set. Thoth, for obvious reasons, is vehemently against allowing Set to stay -- despite the friendly greeting he just witnessed, he still suspects Set of treachery. So, he coldly attempts to shoo Set out of the room. This puts off Set, but Osiris assures him that he is welcome to stay. He then attempts to encourage him, remarking that he’d much rather have an exciting duty on the sun barge like Set instead of dealing with politics all day. He removes his crown, jokingly holding it out to Set as if to ask “Want to trade?” Set takes the crown into his hands, and Thoth’s heart stops. He’s sure that this is the moment everything is going to fall apart… But Set just chuckles, and he purposefully sets the crown back atop Osiris’ head -- he assures Osiris that he is fit to be king, and jokes that Osiris is supposed to be the more sensible out of the two of them. Shortly afterwards, Isis, Nephthys, and Sekhmet -- who’d gone and rounded up the girls -- arrive, and the gods resume their celebration.
