In another one of the technology business' complicated deals, Seagate Technology has reached an agreement to buy the flash business that Singapore-based Avago Technologies acquired when it struck a $6.6 billion deal to buy LSI two months ago. For Seagate, the acquisition will help it keep pace with rival Western Digital, which upped its flash storage operations back in December with a deal to buy the operations of Virident Systems. However, some tech followers question - given the relatively modest purchase price - whether Seagate has a real interest in all the flash operations it's buying, or may wind some down.
