Thousands die in Yemen's 'forgotten war' - BBC News

More than 6,000 people have been killed in Yemen since last March, in a struggle for power between Houthi rebels and forces loyal to the president. It has been described as a forgotten war, and the rebels, backed by Iran, have been targeted by a military force led by neighbouring Saudi Arabia. Yemen is already the poorest country in the Arab world; its basic infrastructure is shattered and its economy is grinding to a halt. At least 80% of the population is dependent on food aid.
