It might not be new, but did a new update just make the PlayStation Portal one of the best gaming handhelds around? By now, you know what this is; it’s been out since November 2023, and it’s a remote play device that can only be used when connected to a PS5 via wifi, so you can play games installed on your console. Or, that is, until very recently, when Sony revealed it had released an update for the device, which makes it possible to use this as a standalone device, without being connected to a PS5.
