Low values Lever shift means slower acceleration, firmest shock setting is too stiff for street use, carbon fiber roof option saves only 2 pounds. The Verdict The GT3's distinct engine and superb chassis make it the cleanest and most enjoyable #911 to drive. #FirstLook Review With an exclusive naturally aspirated engine and racing-car-inspired components, the 2022 #Porsche #911 #GT3 is optimized for driver engagement and track glory. #Porsche has refined its most intuitive #911 front suspension with control arms - a first for a 911 road car - and an unusual rear wing that's mounted up rather than down. The GT3 is also the only non-turbocharged #911 ,and the responsive nature and thrilling sound of its 502bhp 4.0-litre flat-six engine is inspiring. The rear unit feature is complemented by a seven-speed PDK automatic or a useful six-speed manual. With a unique suspension setup and track-focused tire options, the 2022 #911 #GT3 has a remarkably supple, albeit firm, ride and incredible steering feel, just to name a few of the reasons it’s so fun to drive. They also help it make it to our 2022 Editors' Choice list. for 2022? The #911 #GT3 is back in 2022! From the reveal of the prototype version to the deluge of official details from #Porsche , we've been following its return to the 992 generation. An even more racing #GT3RS is also in development for sure. Prices and which one to buy #GT3 : $162,450 #GT3 Touring: $163,450 #GT3RS : $200,000 (Estimated) As with the latest generation, #Porsche will eventually offer three subtly different versions of the #GT3 ,starting with the standard car that's out now, the even more track-oriented RS model, and the Touring variant that softens the racy look by eliminating the large rear wing. This time the #GT3 Touring will be available with both transmissions, not just a manual transmission, when it goes on sale early next year. We recommend using the #Porsche Experience Centre. For $395 (plus $50 restocking fee) you get the ability to instruct and track time in your new #Porsche in Atlanta or Los Angeles. If you don't live in these areas, you can travel and book a time in one of the #Porsche cars instead. Prices for these experiences range from $400 to $900 depending on location and model. Engine, transmission and performance At the rear of the #911 #GT3 is the familiar naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine with 502 horsepower. The engine is almost identical to the one that powered the last #911 Speedster we tested, which revs up to 9000 rpm and sings a hypnotic tune. The new #GT3 offers both a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (aka PDK) and a six-speed manual transmission. The PDK example we drove showed off the intuitive behavior of the automatic transmission, as well as energetic engine responses and an intoxicating soundtrack. The GT3's most notable performance improvement is its control-arm front suspension, which is inspired by the racing car version and is a first for a production #911 . Add to that the standard adaptive dampers and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 or stickier Cup R-tyres. and coupe chassis provide superior cornering grip and unfiltered feedback. While the ride is undeniably firm, it's never punishing, and the electric power steering is so divine that it deserves to be anointed as the best in the business. Period. Purist Porsches are stopped by massive mounts that include a carbon-ceramic option that delivers heroic braking power, effortless modulation and fade resistance on the track. Fuel economy and real MPG The EPA rated the #911 GT3 at 15 mpg city and 18 mpg highway when equipped with an automatic transmission. When switching to a manual transmission, city mileage drops to 14 mpg. Read more https://www.caranddriver.com/porsche/...
