(EXTREME DEMON) "Goldcrest Palace" by GrenadeofTacos and PauL333 100% (Geometry Dash)

February 26, 2021, my friend 19 told me about a 1.9 style decorated extreme demon called Goldcrest Palace. I headed to YouTube to watch Viprin’s video on it and instantly fell in love with it - I wanted to go for it immediately. But this was the time when my hardest just became Acu, and knowing that I only had one easy extreme, I set it aside with no intentions of beating it anytime soon. The thought of beating the level stayed in my mind though, and it was something I wanted to do. Over the second half of 2021, my activity in Geometry Dash significantly decreased due to school and other personal reasons. With the little free time I had, I decided to revisit this level, since beating it was one of my goals. I knew that it was a really difficult level, so instead of immediately jumping, on November 4, 2021, I decided to create a ladder, starting with Castlemania, only a medium demon. And after beating 9 other levels over the course of six months, ranging from medium to insane demons, I was faced off with this level. Surprisingly, playing it felt much easier than before, and my guess was that it was due to practice I got from my ladder. It actually turned out to be a completely different reason - the level had a gameplay update that was completely unannounced. I compared a new copy of the level to an older copy I had, and I could definitely see that there were significant changes. (That still confuses me, by the way. Why would you nerf a level without at least mentioning it in the description?) I entered full grind mode for the time I had, and I can’t believe how fast I beat this. I beat this on May 9 after school, right after my AP Calculus exam Lol Regarding my experience with the level itself: the gameplay is really hard to learn, as it's a full on timing level. I’ve never been a person great with timings, so it especially took me a long time to learn (specifically 23-60%). The hardest part for me was definitely 35-37%, and as you can see from the bottom left, I counted how many times I died there daily. I would estimate that I died in that wave segment probably 30+ times in total? I’m not sure, but you “sort of” get the hang of the timings with practice. The decoration is absolutely amazing, and it being made in the 1.9 editor makes it even more amazing (only using four color channels!). As the description of the level said, “luscious gardens and picturesque scenery” is a perfect way to describe it. The song is awesome as well; Envy is a great artist. This is the end of the Goldcrest Palace ladder, after almost 1.5 years from when I first saw this - thank you all for still believing in me, even though my activity has dwindled!
