Phoenix Police Try To Extinguish Roaring Fence Fire - June 30, 2023

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 06-30-2023 | 7:45 PM LOCATION: 28th Drive & Colter St CITY: Phoenix DETAILS: Phoenix Fire and police responded to a pole fire in a neighborhood near 28th Drive and Colter street. Police initially arrived and located a sparking power transformer with the fence below heavily involved in fire. Police attempted to evacuate several residents as the fire encroached on the backyard of a house. One officer attempted to extinguish part of the fire but retreated due to the intensity of the heat and fear of an unknown hissing sound emanating from the fire that was potentially propane. Firefighters from engine 918 arrived and extinguished the fire shortly after.
