The Complete History of Wolverine Finally Explained

Understanding the X-Men timeline can be tricky, but if you focus solely on Wolverine, it's a bit easier to follow the story. From his bloody origin story to his fateful final film, here's Wolverine's cinematic history explained. Our first chronological glimpse of the boy who will become Wolverine is in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where we learn that his name isn't Logan. It's James Howlett. Logan is actually the surname of the man who murdered James's father in 1845, triggering James's mutation and causing claws to sprout from his knuckles. Enraged, James kills Logan, only to learn almost immediately that the man was actually his biological father. Young James runs away from home with his half-brother, Victor Creed, who possesses the same mutant healing factor as James.
