Today’s Return to Campus Parent Town Hall is designed to answer questions from our community. Because we anticipate a large viewing audience, we invited parents to submit questions early, and have already received close to 1,000. These questions form the basis for today’s virtual event. Questions to be answered during the event include those below, with others accepted during the event using the form at the bottom of this page. a. Will school start on time? b. What is the difference if parents choose Online or At School/Traditional in the information update? c. Can I pick one model now and change it later when I know what on-site learning is going to look like under whatever the mandates are at that time? d. What will the online learning model look like? i. What classes AREN’T going to be offered in online learning (both short- and long-term)? e. How are teachers involved in instruction? f. What time of day will instruction be happening/schedules? g. Will attendance be taken? h. How will families get the technology they need for online learning? i. What about families who can’t be home during the day to help their children with online learning? j. Will my child be able to access CTE/CART? k. What are clubs, VAPA and athletics going to look like? i. If I choose online will my child still get to participate in co-curricular programs? ii. Why are sports programs still happening if our kids can’t be on campus? l. What curriculum will be used and will it be aligned to the standards and college prep requirements? m. Will teachers use a wide variety of learning platforms and systems for turning in work/presenting materials? n. How will assessment work for students? o. What about the concerns of continuity of Education as we switch back and forth from online to on-site and possibly back to online again? (Same teachers? Same schedule? Same curriculum?) p. What about Campus Club and after school instructional supports (like ASES, academic intervention)? q. My child is struggling emotionally, how can I find them help through school? r. How are 504 and Special Education going to work and when can we have a chance to ask all our questions about those programs and services? s. What does our contact tracing protocols for staff look like before kids are on campus? t. What happens if a teacher gets sick during the school year with COVID (subs)? u. How will the rest of the instructional team be used to support our students during online learning? v. When might we be able to come back to an in-person instructional model? w. With online learning, will kids still get school meals? How? x. Why are other groups still using your campuses? y. Is Clovis Unified going to apply for the waiver for K-6 schools that has been talked about? z. What happens if mandates are changed again between now and Aug. 17? aa. How quickly could onsite instruction start once we are off the Watch List? bb.
