The "Same Old Love" singer opens up in her Apple TV+ documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, which is now streaming. In it, she discusses the fallout from her six-year on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber. In 2018, the two parted ways amicably. A few months later, Bieber wed model Hailey Baldwin. "Everything was very public," Gomez says in the documentary, citing Entertainment Today. "I had the impression that someone was trying to hang onto a bad relationship. I eventually overcame it and stopped being terrified." Although it was tough to deal with at the time, she now views their separation favorably. She explains, "I feel like I had to go through the worst heartbreak I could have ever had and then just forget everything at the drop of the [hat], it was really perplexing.
