Proclamation and Demonstration

Proclamation and Demonstration

Tom Shrader teaches two core values of the newly forming Redemption Church: proclamation, rooted in the authority of Scripture and the gospel of Christ's death and resurrection, and demonstration, the call to live out that gospel visibly in everyday relationships. Drawing from Matthew 5, Romans 10, Acts 17, and 2 Timothy 3, he argues that Christians are all in full-time ministry, responsible to be salt and light in their immediate world. He concludes with Paul's example in Athens as a model for meeting people where they are, observing their idols, and pointing them toward the God they do not yet know. “The gospel is words. If all you do is live it, they're going to conclude that you are just naturally a happy person.” — Tom Shrader Series: EVBC - Our Values Recorded in 2010 Duration: 55 min Themes: evangelism, salt and light, gospel, mission, everyday witness, proclamation, church planting, ministry, new believer, church member navigating change, feeling unsure about outreach, young adult, layperson in full-time ministry, skeptic seeking answers, new to a church, someone exploring faith Topics: missiology, kerygma, biblical authority, incarnational ministry, the great commission, scripture sufficiency, apologetics, the gospel Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Romans 10:9-15, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Colossians 4:4-6, John 1:19-29, John 3:30, Acts 17:15-23 — About Priority Living AZ — Priority Living AZ preserves the teaching legacy of Tom Shrader.
