Nurses in Tana River County down tools over delay in payment of July salaries

Operations in public hospitals in Tana River County are facing paralysis nurses went on strike to protest delayed payment of July salaries. More than 300 health worker abandoned their work and matched to the county assembly to demand for the settlement of their unpaid dues. According to the county's health workers secretary-general Damon Kwaraa the delay in approving the budget was behind the non-payment of salaries. He says they will only go back to work once the pending salary arrears are settled.
