MORE: https://abc6onyourside.com/news/natio... Federal investigators are releasing new details in the case against the man accused of assassinating activist Charlie Kirk, even as thousands gathered in the nation’s capital to honor his memory. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that investigators recovered DNA evidence directly linking the suspect to the crime. Patel said DNA hits from a towel wrapped around the firearm, as well as a screwdriver retrieved at the scene, matched the individual now in custody. Authorities also uncovered evidence that a note was written before the attack. “The suspect wrote a note saying, ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,’” Patel revealed. The note was reportedly left inside the home the suspect shared with a partner. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox confirmed that the suspect lived with a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female. Cox said family members and acquaintances told investigators the accused had become “deeply indoctrinated with left-wing ideology.” _______________ Stay up to date with our social media: WSYX on Facebook: / wsyxabc6 WSYX on Twitter: / wsyx6 WSYX on Instagram: / wsyx6 Subscribe to WSYX on YouTube: / @wsyxabc6 Daily News Playlist: • 6 On Your Side For more information, visit https://abc6onyourside.com/ Have a news tip?
