Various of convoy carrying Ban crossing arriving and crossing into Gaza Strip as protesters chant "Don''t forget Gilad Schalit" STORYLINE United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, continued his tour of the Middle East on Sunday, crossing from Israel into the Gaza Strip. He was expected to visit areas in the Gaza Strip which were damaged during Israel''s ferocious offensive there during the winter of 2008-2009, and to visit UN aid projects. At the crossing he was met by a group of Israeli protesters calling for the release of captive Israeli soldier Corporal Gilad Schalit who is being held in the Gaza Strip. The protesters appealed to the UN chief not to forget Schalit. Ban will later travel to Jerusalem for a meeting with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli defence minister Ehud Barak. Ban arrived in the region on Saturday, where he toured the West Bank and met Palestinian officials in Ramallah.
