Silent Hill F Walkthrough Part 1 - Full Gameplay - Horror Playthrough / All Hard Mode Puzzles & Cutscenes. Twitch: / aloversgaming Taking a different approach to Silent Hill; Konami's Silent Hill F (2025) takes place in 1950s Japan, starring Hinako Shimizu, a teenager from an abusive home who finds herself tormented by demons across her town. In a effort to find safety Hinako teams up with her friends; Shu Iwai & Rinko Nishida. I had a blast with Silent Hill F. It's different to past entries in the Silent Hill franchise i've come to love so dearly, but that fresh take is welcome. The combat is smooth, and being a melee only game is what i've always wanted from Silent Hill. Leave the guns to Resident Evil, I just need a steel pipe! Going into Silent Hill F I was worried that it wouldn't feel like a survival horror and while many assume I mean running away from enemies, i'm also talking about puzzles and riddles. Silent Hill is known for its puzzles, an aspect trailers leading up to the horror games release ignored. But I was so pleased to see Silent Hill F is no different. Riddles and puzzles are a common experience inbetween surviving enemy encounters. Yes, the game is more action heavy and comparing it to Dark Souls at times is fair, including Devil May Cry. Sounds awful on paper, but it fit the theme and personality of our hero; Hinako. But the biggest return of pure Silent Hill soul is in its story and themes. Like many in the Silent Hill series, F is a story of womanhood and their assumed roles in society. Hinako spends her time at home getting told by her father she's not good enough, while her so-called friends tell her it's weird she has a male best friend, that her personality is too manish, that she should be more girly. Sexism is the driving force for F's story, affecting Hinako, her sister, and everyone, including the male characters. It's written symbolically at times, leading to deeper thought and discussion, but a lot of it is surface level to ensure you know Hinako's inner and outer struggles. Hinako is a fantastic lead character and an instant favourite of the survival horror genre with horror game fans. Heather Mason has a challenge on her hands to stay favourite Silent Hill girl. However, my favourite character is Rinko Nishida. Rinko is so mean, rude, and see through in her catty mannerisms. The perfect mean girl to compliment Hinako. A person that accepts and embraces the world she lives in. But Hinako is no push over, she's a fighter. Something Rinko can never be. It's a beautiful relationship, and one of my biggest problems with Silent Hill F is not seeing as much of Rinko as I wish we could. She's an important character, i'd have her in every scene if I could. In terms of locations there's many beautiful areas you visit. The foggy town of Ebisugaoka with it's 1950s Japan design, and the school looking like a cool, creepy wooden structured location even without the monsters. My favourite area for sure. Then there's the otherside to speak of. A temple with deep levels to explore and some of the most horrible experiences Hinako could live through. Another world but our world. It's a refreshing game to be away from the town of Silent Hill we've explored since the Playstation 1 in 1999, and 2001 & 2003 with Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. Not to mention the other games. Do I miss the Silent Hill town? Of course, but as a personal story of Hinako, it's important she's here in Ebisugaoka, years before Silent Hill's demonic power was fully released by Dahlia Gillespie. Silent Hill F is getting some backlash for not taking place in Silent Hill, it's combat, and other new aspects and changes, but F stands on its own two feet as a great survival horror game now sitting high on my favourite horror list. F fought for its own identity and deserves its freedom from the chains of the series older entries. Just like Hinako fights for freedom from the life forced upon her by her family and era. A story of feminism, inner struggle, and the mental health affected by having dangerous and toxic people in your life; Silent Hill F is a must own for all horror game lovers. And if you're like me and you want the survival in survival horror to stay now that it's back, then this is the game to support. The era of action shooters called horror is put to rest, show the developers you want it to stay that way. Konami and NeoBards Entertainment did a great job on this title. With Silent Hill F being NeoBards Entertainment's first true video game. They did amazingly well. Since the PS1 era survival horror has been a beloved genre with Silent Hill often considered one of the best, with the Playstation 2 era considered the golden age of horror. Now after the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake (2024) and Silent Hill F (2025), the Silent Hill series is back on top with quality experiences. The dark age of horror is over. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.
