This video is the NBC Sports broadcast of Game 6 of the 1971 World Series between the Pirates and Orioles, with Baltimore prevailing at Memorial Stadium, 3-2, on Oct. 16. The Orioles staved off a World Series defeat for one day when Frank Robinson scored on a Brooks Robinson sac fly in the 10th inning. The reason I originally posted this game, aside from the fact that it's called by the great Curt Gowdy, my favorite baseball broadcaster, was to get it onto one file. However, an astute viewer, Jules World, noted that the famous Roberto Clemente one-hop throw in the ninth, which prevented Baltimore from winning the game in that inning, was missing. Come to find out, every version I saw lacked the last part of the top of the ninth, and the bottom of the ninth (possibly destroyed while cutting up the Roberto's rocket highlight?). So I took the NBC Radio call of that stretch (with the always excellent Jim Simpson) and added it, with video of the Clemente throw. It's now complete, as it were; hope you enjoy! I just posted for historic and educational purposes, and for those who will like it as much as I did.
