Bauhaus Dessau: 3 questions to ... Open Studio India, 27 to 31 July 2020

Im Jahr 2020 beschäftigen sich die Open Studios mit dem Jahresthema „Habitat“. Wie wurde zum Wohnen als eines der Grundbedürfnisse des Menschen am Bauhaus gelernt, gelehrt und geforscht? Was zeichnete Lebensräume der damaligen Zeit aus? Was galt als modern und erstrebenswert? Welche Anforderungen in Architektur und Design werden heute mit Blick auf Ressourcenknappheit, Klimawandel und Massenmigration an zeitgemäße Räume für Mensch und Natur gestellt? Wie sehen das Habitat, die Hütte, der Zufluchtsraum der Zukunft aus? Im Open Studio Indien waren Studierende aus verschiedenen indischen Partnerinstitutionen virtuell zu Gast im Bauhaus Dessau, um sich in Workshop- und Seminarformaten mit dem Thema "Indigenous Habitat" auszutauschen. // In 2020, the Open Studios will deal with the annual theme Habitat. How was living as one of the basic needs of people learned, taught and researched at the Bauhaus? What were the distinguishing features of living spaces at that time? What was considered modern and desirable? What demands are made on contemporary spaces for people and nature today in architecture and design in view of resource scarcity, climate change and mass migration? What does the habitat, the hut, the refuge of the future look like? In the Open Studio India, students from various Indian partner institutions were virtual guests at the Bauhaus Dessau to exchange views on the topic "Indigenous Habitat" in workshop and seminar formats.
