For educational purposes only. If you live in the affected areas, please stay tuned to your local National Weather Service office for the most accurate and up-to-date information. On the heels of last week's multi-day severe weather event across the Southern US, the same areas are under the gun for another round of severe weather beginning tonight (Monday, February 21) across the Southern Plains and persisting into tomorrow across the Southeast. Tonight, storms will likely remain elevated with mostly a large hail threat for parts of north Texas, southern Oklahoma, and northwest Arkansas. There is a chance storms could become surface-based with an accompanying tornado threat in eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas overnight. Tomorrow, storms along the surging cold front will continue, but discrete supercell development across the open warm sector is possible for central/northern Mississippi and northwest Alabama. These storms would have a tornado threat.
