From BUDGET VAN LIFE to PRO OFF ROAD CAMPER!! 3 YEARS of VANLIFE. Stealth, Urban, and Nomad.

This Van life Tour video features Chrome and Cruz from Vancity Vanlife. Chrome has lived in his 2004 Ford E-250 extended cargo van for just over 3 years. Chrome has been a "city boy" all his life, that is until he decided to live in a van. When he was living in a Condo in Vancouver he bought a used cargo van for hauling his DJ gear to and from gigs. When he was in the empty van he thought about how much space there was and how he could sleep in the van, so he tried it! And very soon after he put in his notice at his condo. The first years of chromes Vanlife were very basic, his build was simple and it did the job. (a tour of that version of this van https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkyIw...) He survived Canadian winters with simple insulation and a Wave 3 heater. In this video he talks about how much fun those days of van life were and how he doesn't believe you need to spend a lot of money to get a van that is fully equipped. In those first years Chrome stuck mostly to pavement, but as he started to venture off road occasionally he realised how much he loved that back roads and the more remote areas. With that in mind Chrome decided to get a professional build out of his home on wheels, This is that build. He got the best off roading tires he could for the van, a ladder on the side to access a new storage bin up top that houses a battery powered chain saw which he uses to buck firewood and clear fallen trees on back roads. He installed solar which he previously had none fixed on his van, and a auxiliary battery bank that is charged from the solar as well as a DC to DC charger from the cars alternator. He brought back an element from his past by installing professional monitor speakers, and XLR plug ins in his cabinets and a specific place for his DJ Gear. The cabinets themselves are cut using a C and C machine allowing for lighter weight and more unique designs. The back of the van now has a slide out drawer access that is sturdy enough for chrome to use as a standing desk and as a hang out spot / table. Chrome also installed a Webasto Gas heater, this heater taps right into his gas tank and doesn't require a seperate tank like if he were to use a diesel heater. This heat is a dry heat that is much better suited for vanlife then the propane one he had before. Van Life Essential Supplies!
