Started as a wholesale trade of Jewellery in the 1850s, Jugal Kishore Jewellers have been a name synonymous with Lucknow’s legacy! . Earlier the business used to happen in the wholesale form of trade in a shop or ‘gaddi’ & the retail stores & showrooms came much later. . Remembering the old days Mr. Kamal Kishore Rastogi (oldest in this family business) told us “in my time we used weighing scales which were ‘haath ke tol’ (hand-held weighing scales) & while weighing we would have to switch off the fan or else it would shake & create error.” . His son, Mr. Rajan Rastogi, being a visionary & a problem solver, identified where his business was lacking in the early years of his youth. And while touring through Europe found solutions that revolutionised his business & helped it achieve greater heights! . Currently the business is run by the 8th generation jeweller, Mr. Raghava Rastogi, who takes great pride in being a part of such a rich legacy. . He firmly believes “If you’ve been lucky enough to be born into a legacy, you should understand your responsibilities towards it & should try your best to give back to it & to grow it further. One should understand the fundamental values on which one’s legacy was built & should try to maintain those values.” . Starting from wholesale jewellery trade now this family business is one of the biggest names in the city in Retail Jewellery & has grown its roots into Automobile Industry, Real Estate Industry, Heavy Metal Casting Industry & more. .
