ABCs George Stephanopoulos accuses Pence of mansplaining Harris, gets rebuked by female panelist

Read full article here: https://readnews.io/ngosfw ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos drew some brushbackWednesday night after he suggested that Vice President Mike Pence was "mansplaining" to Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. , during the vice presidential debate. During the networks post-debate analysis, former Chicago mayor and ABC News analyst Rahm Emanuel highlighted President Trumps deficit among women voters and claimedthe image of Pence not only "attacking" Harris but moderator Susan Page as well would only worsen the GOPs standing among the female electorate. "SaraFagen, let me bring that to you," Stephanopolous pivoted to the female panelist, a former member of the George W. Bush administration. "Because obviously, Mike Pence is a former television commentator, does have a very calm demeanor, but I think that a lot of people were noticingsome mansplaining going on tonight. "CHRIS WALLACE SAYS PENCE, HARRIS HAD A PRETTY GOOD NIGHT, CALLS THEM OUT FOR DUCKING QUESTIONS"I dont know. I didnt see it that way, George. I didnt come across to me," Fagen responded. "I do think that he should have stopped talking a little quicker, but I dont think he was disrespectful of either woman. "Critics slammed the ABC News anchor for leveling the "mansplaining" charge. "Oh dear. This is a rather desperate tactic, it may work on the Twitter demographic, but most normal people roll their eyes when they hear the term mansplaining," columnist Rita Panahi reacted. "Pulling out the mansplainingcard. Harris must have performed worse than expected," Daily Callers Mary Margaret Olohan concluded from ABCs coverage. "mansplaining (verb): when a man whose politics you hate says anything whatsoever to a woman whose politics you love," National Review writer Alexandra DeSanctis quipped. "Translation: Pence absolutely won the debate on merit so the media is using every lame excuse possible," former Secretary of Defense special assistant Amber Smith similarly wrote.
