Dr. Coburn on the Senate Floor: Duplication Nation and Gun Legislation

Dr. Coburn discusses the third installment of the GAO duplication report, which "found instances where we're giving grants to different agencies for the same projects for the same thing," Dr. Coburn said. "If you're sitting out there wondering why we're having a tax proposal increase in the President's budget and why we are having such a hard time with sequester, you only have to look at to one place, and that's Congress. Congress refuses to follow and do the oversight. We have refused to pass amendments that eliminate duplication. We refused to make the tough choices." On guns, Dr. Coburn said, "The reason there doesn't need to be a record is because we are putting an onus on responsible citizens doing the right thing. Plus, the government has no right to have a record of when I transfer a gun."
